In her capacity of Training Head at Intercultur in Hamburg, she works with multipliers, teachers, and faculty to help them develop and implement experienced-based training focused on intercultural and global competence. She established and leads the annual Intercultural Trainer Academy that enables trainers from across the globe to design transformative intercultural learning programs. 

In connection with Karlshochschule International University, she leads a project on competence development in civic engagement formats. 

Her interests include program design, interactive play, art & games, nonformal learning, and international education and service-learning.

Veronica Boix-Mansilla

Title of her speech: Educating the whole person for a world of complexity, diversity and mobility – Principles and Practices

Principal Investigator at Project Zero, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Cambridge, MA (USA).

An international expert on global competence education, Dr. Boix-Mansilla’s research examines conditions that enable individuals to understand and take action on the most pressing issues of our times (migration, globalization, climate change) through quality disciplinary and interdisciplinary work. 

Her most recent initiative, Re-imagining Migration, examines the importance of nurturing young peoples’ global competence dispositions to build more inclusive societies for immigrant-origin and receiving youth. 

She has co-led the conceptual development of key global competence frameworks at the OECD-PISA, Project Zero, Asia Society, Council of Chief Academic Officers among others.
